Yu Xubo, chairman of China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. (Genertec), attended the opening meeting of the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China, on March 5.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders attended the opening meeting. Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered a government work report on behalf of the State Council at the meeting.

Yu, a deputy to the 14th NPC, along with Genertec's two other NPC deputies - Fan Zhen, deputy general manager of Genertec Meheco Topfond and Ma Bing, the 18th head of the Ma Hengchang Team at Genertec QIER, were present when Li delivered the government work report.

Yu has taken a good number of proposals to the ongoing second session of the 14th NPC, including supporting enterprises converted from research institutes and industry-leading enterprises in the manufacturing sector in applying for the authority to grant doctoral and master's degrees, establishing national standards and platforms for evaluating the value of scientific and technological achievements, comprehensively and swiftly promoting the establishment of a long-term care insurance system, and exempting non-profit medical institutions from corporate income tax.
