The BRICS Economic and Trade Forum was successfully held on April 24.

Li Qingshuang, vice-chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Yu Xubo, Chairman of Genertec; and Wang Gang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, among others, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.

Representatives from the Embassies of Indonesia and Egypt in China also attended the forum and gave keynote speeches.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the current landscape and future trends of BRICS economic and trade cooperation and standards collaboration, as well as practical business cooperation in areas such as digital economy, green transition, and sustainable development.

A service handbook on BRICS trade development and standards cooperation was released at the forum.

More than 200 representatives from Chinese and international standardization organizations and regulatory bodies, business associations, enterprises, research institutes, and diplomatic missions in China attended the event.
